Poinsettia

Mistletoe
Mistletoe is another popular species of Christmas plant that has white berries that grow on it during the winter months. It is also often used as decoration for holiday parties and obviously for the age-old tradition of kissing under the mistletoe.
People often think mistletoe is red, and it can be realy frustrating to see it portrayed as so in movies and on TV! But nope, it’s berries are a beautiful pure white colour. Personally, we think this makes mistletoe one of the most flexible plants to decorate with at Christmas, because it’ll go with whatever colour scheme you’ve chosen.
Azalea
Azalea plants are a type of evergreen shrubs that grow in moist and shaded areas. Azaleas are sometimes called “the gardener’s delight” because they bloom so profusely and such a wide range of colors. They grow best in acidic soil with good drainage which would most likely be found near the edge of a forest or where there is shade from trees or other plants.
Paperwhites
Paperwhite flowers are a variety of white flowers that grow in many different shapes and sizes. They are often seen as a symbol of new beginnings, purity, and an important part of weddings. Paperwhite flowers can be difficult to care for because they do not like to be over watered. When watering paper whites make sure to get the soil wet but don’t let it become soggy. One way to check the moisture level is by sticking your finger down into the dirt about an inch or two. If it feels dry you should water them now. But if it feels damp you should wait until tomorrow before watering them again.
Christmas Cactus
The Christmas cactus is not really a cactus. It’s a succulent that easily produces blooms in the shape of pine cones into the Christmas season. The plant, native to Brazil, grows slowly and needs only basic care and watering to maintain its shape.

Cyclamen
Cyclamens are now commonly used as decorative plants for indoor use. The common Christmas cyclamen is sold as a small plant. It comes in a variety of different colours which include white, pink, red and purple. Cyclamens are easy to look after and can last over a month if properly looked after.
A good tip would be to buy a small cyclamen in a pot and then remove the cyclamen from the pot when it has flowered and remove some of the compost. Place the cyclamen in a jar and add enough water to just cover the base of the cyclamen. Do not add compost to the jar, though,
Christmas plants love humidity
Even though winter plants only blossom around Christmas, remember that many of them are tropical. So they like warm temperatures & humidity. The warmth they’ll likely get, as long as you don’t keep them near draughty doors or windows. But the humidity is often lacking, as our central heating dries the air. So make sure you refresh their leaves with frequent mist sprays, and even keep a small bowl of water near them that can evaporate & keep that air lovely & humid.
